All of The Robots

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the country these days, which is nice. I’ve lived in San Francisco for almost ten years and while I love the city, it is nice to see what else the great state of California has to offer. Turns out a lot of it is fields full of cows, grapes and such, but I’m not complaining, it’s been relaxing getting away from the city, although I’ve lived in the country now long enough to no longer find deer cute. They’re everywhere, they eat your crops, they just stand in the middle of the road and they laugh at your fences while they swiftly jump right over, they’re beautiful way of saying fuck your fence.

Also, I may not be hearing the crazy homeless people outside my San Francisco apartment, but there are all kinds of crazy sounds going on at night. There are times when I swear the Coyotes are right outside my window, and then there’s this crazy rooster who seems to oversleep because I always hear him around noon fifteen.

At first I found myself getting re acquainted with cable television, but theres a lot of crap on t.v. I don’t necessarily think this has changed from when I was a kid, I just don’t have the same love for television I once did. There are so many reality shows out there, I was watching one the other day called Addiction; you know, the show where people get cornered by their loved ones and try to get em help? I don’t have a problem with the premise of the show, I’m sure people have been helped by the show— but when you have an episode about someone addicted to eating laundry detergent that’s when you need to call it a day. You’re not addicted to eating laundry detergent Sally, you’re crazy.

Now in San Francisco I typically find things like VCRs and Paper shredders, so the parts I’m used to working with are usually small. Little ball bearings, screws, rods etc. The things I’m finding now are considerably bigger. Like huge gears and industrial metals, and so I’m finding myself accumulating a literal ton of stuff, and out of fear of becoming a case on Hoarders, (or my girlfriend staging an intervention) I decided the time I would otherwise be using to watch television could be better used making things. So I have created this website, All of the Robots, to show off my creations to the and hopefully inspire others along the way.
